I hope you’ve all been having a lovely weekend. The sun has been shining the last two weeks and it just makes everything feel better. Yesterday I decided to make the most out of it because lets face it, in Ireland it is a rarity that can disappear without warning.
In the last week I’ve seen both Cheryl and Candace channelling the Bridal Chic look and looking absolutely gorgeous. Both dresses were stunning and I especially fell in love with Candace’s look at the VS after party in London last week.
White is a great option for events as not many people like to venture from the dark side, particularly at this time of year. Bridal Chic however is definitely a style to watch, even being showcased by Simone Rocha at London Fashion Week in September.
Now as the majority of us ladies are not going to be wearing full length, lace, bridal-eque gowns on a regular basis I have kept an eye out for options that are more ‘wearable’ for us ordinary ladies.

I am a big fan of pencil skirts and I think they are perfect for a night out. I tend to opt for a pencil skirt and top as opposed to a dress. I think it helps elongate my body and slims my hips. Pencil skirts are not only extremely stylish, they also streamline any body shape, giving a sexy silhouette. They are perfect for nights out but also for occasions. Just invest wisely in the colour! When choosing a pencil skirt, make sure the material is thick enough to cover underwear lines and the like but not too thick that it adds bulk. At the moment I am in love with the options currently available in River Island. The faux leather material is so flattering and the placement of the pockets will actually slim the hips and help create an hourglass shape. The band around the waistline will also emphasis your curves giving the illusion of an even smaller waist.
At €40.00 they are a complete steal and will go with everything. I already have a black and baby blue one but I can see myself investing in some more colours. The skirts themselves are very flattering and are so versatile.

Monochrome played a huge part throughout each Fashion Week, present in the New York, London and now Paris shows. Monochrome may be a key trend for SS15, however its also great for adding instant glamour to any night out for Autumn and Winter too. The power of monochrome can be extremely underestimated. It is a strong tool for adding elegance to your look. It is a timeless, classic and yet modern look that suits everyone.
