Hello Beautiful People
Autumn + Winter are my favourite times of year, especially when it comes to style. The associated colours with these seasons always hold so much potential for an extremely stylish wardrobe. I’ve been loving the rust inspired looks coming into stores lately. Paired with creams, browns and of course black, they come together to give off such a glamorous yet versatile look. So it’s Monday yet again and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today’s post is about getting whiter teeth at home and of course on a budget!
As I am currently awaiting my moulds, I don’t think it’s appropriate to get my teeth whitened professionally, as soon they are going to be covered by the retainer. I do however want my teeth as white as they can be for the time being. I find a lot of ‘whitening’ toothpastes don’t actually work. To be honest I don’t think it’s possible to fully achieve the Hollywood smile from at home products especially if you’re a coffee addict like myself. I have however come across a tooth paste that has made my teeth significantly whiter and I would highly recommend it:
Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White
The only place that I can find this product is Superdrug. I go to the one in The Square, Tallaght. The toothpaste costs about €6.00 but it’s the only toothpaste that has made a real difference without being too abrasive. I have sensitive teeth but it hasn’t impacted me in that aspect at all. It’s great for anyone who doesn’t want to splash out on professional whitening but still wants brighter teeth.
Be warned the toothpaste comes out black as it contains charcoal to aid in the whitening process. This is normal, don’t feel like there is something wrong with yours!
I hope you’re all having a fabulous Monday and have kicked off the week with a positive attitude 🙂
Until Next Time My Loves
Well it’s D-Day, yes I know, shocking that I am a Christmas Fanatic, so this post is of course based around my favourite time of year. This year in the run up to the festive season, I have been thinking about what it is that makes Christmas such a special time of year. Yes while it is great to get presents, I think as you get older (I’m a ripe old 23!) your perception of Christmas begins to alter. It becomes more about spending time with family and friends and seeing their faces when they open their gifts. So many tragic and unfortunate things happen every day, it really makes you appreciate having your loved ones safe and happy. At the end of the day that far out weighs the monetary side of Christmas.
I have put together a small collection of videos that communicate the real meaning of Christmas. Regardless of their circumstances, everyone deserves a little something to make them smile at Christmas. I hope you enjoy and you all have a lovely Christmas with your nearest and dearest 🙂
Merry Christmas My Loves
The usual Monday blues seem to have escalated for this particular week. Everywhere I looked today people were complaining about lack of sleep, not wanting to go to work etc via social media. To be fair I was right there with them. I think as the festive season is now in full swing, so too are the alcoholic beverages and late nights. This usually results in a not so funday Monday. So I decided to draw up a small list of things that you can do to brighten up the rest of your week (hopefully!)
Studies have shown that who isn’t happy when they are eating chocolate? No explanation needed.
Listen to Music
Music has long been an excellent mood enhancer. Grab your earphones and play an upbeat tune that makes you want to shake that bum! Avoid sad, love songs as, well this isn’t going to help brighten anyone’s day, in fact it is likely to do the opposite. No opt instead for a song that will put a smile on your face whilst singing a long. My tune for today is Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.
Make a List
It has been proven that if you write yourself a list for the day, your mood will get a boost. You feel proactive and organised as you have set yourself clear goals for the day. These may be as small as picking something up in the shop or getting petrol. It doesn’t matter. When you get to tick off each ‘to do’ you will also get a sense of satisfaction. Get writing and ticking.
Being nice is a choice, I have long said this. Being kind towards someone will not only make them feel good, it gives you an added boost too. A kind gesture can be as large or small as you choose. It is not something that requires measurement. Think of how good you will feel once you have made someone else happy.
Resist the Urge to Complain
This is completely ironic coming from me. I am a grade one complainer, particularly when I am tired or hungover (both of which I am today!) however I read before that the idea is to trick yourself into thinking you are not in bad humour. Acting positively and avoiding negative thoughts will help to persuade your brain to feel happy. It sounds really cheesy I know, but I have been trying it so far today and well I haven’t slapped anyone, so in my mind it is working remarkably well.
So go fourth and become a Positive Polly tomorrow. Spend your day being nice, dancing your ass off and eating loads of chocolate!
Until next time My Loves
