This Weeks Firm Favourites

Hello Beautiful People ❤

I hope you’ve all had a fabulous week so far. I’ve been so busy with work, but am settling in and not feeling like the new girl anymore! I’ve had a great week, maybe not the most productive but sometimes it’s nice to relax at home and just reduce the stress. This post is all about the things I’ve been loving this week.

Netflix to the rescue again. I’m really loving ‘Suits’ at the moment. I’ve had a lot of unproductive evenings just eating and watching it in bed. This is not great for my waistline but it’s also heaven!

New Nails

I got my nails done again in the lovely Makeup Box in Naas. It’s great going somewhere with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The perfect way to kick off my weekend. I’ve decided not to get my gel nails done as it would be too difficult with the Invisalign, so I’m sticking with Shellac 🙂

New Hair Brush

I’m loving my new wooden brush by Kent. It smoothes hair naturally and the bristles massage my head too. I got it in Boots and it was €10.50 but the quality is worth it. My boyfriend thinks I’m slightly insane but a good hair brush makes all the difference.

Remember my post last week about not being able to eat due to my Invisalign, well this week I’ve more than made up for it. I’ve seriously over done it on the carbs and chocolate. I need to get motivated again as I’m feeling so sluggish but I just keep reaching for the chocolate!

Getting used to my Invisalign

After two weeks I can finally close my mouth properly again. Yes it is a small victory but a victory all the same 😛 Excuse the picture, it’s after a long day in work.

My new set of aligners are being put in on Tuesday and I’m praying my little win is not short lived!

Elie Saab at Paris Fashion Week

Last but certainly not least, I am in love with Elie Saab’s catwalk show at Paris Fashion Week. He is one of my favourite designers and I love everything about the looks he showcased during his ‘Way of the Woods’ show.

So the above pretty much sums up what has made me smile this week. I’m going to the Irish Beauty Show tomorrow too so I will of course keep you all updated on that also. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ❤

Until Next Time My Loves

The Usual Suspects Shine at PFW

Hey guys, Paris Fashion Week has continued to showcase some phenomonal designs throughout it’s immense week of catwalk creations. The usual suspects were out in force in the last few days and were once again proving their fashion credentials are justified. As I have previously done a post on Paris Fashion Week, I will keep this one short. I just felt that the designs presented in the later shows were equally as worthy of recognition as the earlier ones. Anyway enough of my ramblings, I am simply going to let the pictures do the talking 🙂

Elie Saab; Feminine, Pretty, Elegant

Haider Ackermann; Muted tones & Plunging Necklines

Valentino Youthful, Simplistic & Romantic

Stella McCartney Simplistic, Structured & Classic

I know I will certainly be taking inspiration from these styles. I cannot wait to see what the high street has to offer in the coming months. I shall keep you posted on any high-street alternatives that I come across!

Au Revoir pour le moment, belle dames 🙂

Mad about Monochrome

Hey guys,

Monochrome played a huge part throughout each Fashion Week, present in the New York, London and now Paris shows. Monochrome may be a key trend for SS15, however its also great for adding instant glamour to any night out for Autumn and Winter too. The power of monochrome can be extremely underestimated. It is a strong tool for adding elegance to your look. It is a timeless, classic and yet modern look that suits everyone.

Paris Fashion Week

Hey Guys,

As an avid fashion lover, I have been glued to Paris Fashion Week, unable to concentrate on anything else. This may seem a tad inconvenient, however with the designs currently on offer from the participating designers, I think my obsession is justified. PFW is home to the chicest styles imaginable. Perfectly suited to the city’s renowned style reputation. Enough of my ramblings regarding my love for PFW, here are some of the great looks which have been strutted down the runway.

I was extremely eager to see what this show would have to offer. It tends to be one of my favourites each year. Needless to say onlookers were not left unsatisfied. The news that North West was in the FROW was a tad soul destroying as I would give my left arm to be sitting there, however moving on from being jealous of an enfant!

The designs present on this catwalk were unbelievably beautiful. Extremely feminine and elegant. There was an emphasis on a cinched in waist with large belts, whilst a large focus was also placed on muted colours and draped fabrics.

Balmain can literally be defined as power dressing at it’s finest. Structure played a strong role in the looks on the Balmain catwalk with the colours used also radiating power and strength.

I personally always love Lanvin’s designs. The pieces are simplistic but always have a good shape to them. They have a feminine appeal without being too girlie.

Alexis Mabille

Plunging Necklines were emphasized throughout this show. Icy colours were also prevalent with of course the ever popular black. Each piece looked crisp and clean cut without too much fuss.

Roland Mouret

He wanted ‘to be desirable’ and desirable he was. Roland Mouret was one of the few designer’s who showcased bright colours. From burnt orange to emerald green, the looks present on this catwalk were a stark comparison to many of the muted and monochrome colours offered in the other shows.

There are more great looks to come from Paris Fashion Week and I’m really looking forward to seeing more chic and elegant styles on the catwalk.

Hope you enjoyed this post ladies 🙂

Paris Fashion Week Fall 2014

Donatella Versace showcased her Fall 2014 Couture collection yesterday on the runway of Paris Fashion Week. Always a highly anticipated show, Atelier Versace did not disappoint. Fashion Week is great for determining what styles are to be watched for the following season. My personal favourites are New York and Paris Fashion Week, saying that London’s Fashion Week is pretty incredible too. After I look at the shows, I try to find similar styles off the high street (yes surprisingly I opt not to spend a small fortune on one of these amazing pieces!) I think the highstreet has become a lot better at intercepting these styles and providing us mere mortals with purse friendly options.

Versace’s catwalk showcased metallic, pastel hues to bright cobalt andAV20142
royal blues as the colours of Fall 2014. I personally love vibrant blues, I feel they really compliment any colouring! Structuring, high necklines, full skirts and jumpsuits also dominated the catwalk, indicating these styles will be huge for Fall 2014. Sheer paneling and a front or side split will also remain popular into Autumn. Black of course was also present and is a classic colouring that can be used for any occasion and season with Navy making an appearance too; a great alternative to black! Metallic bands and cuffs were quite popular within this collection. This can be incorporated around the neck, ankles and waist to achieve the designer look.

AVBlue AV2014AV20143

Personally when I look at the shows and the styles present, I choose to use them as a guide line as opposed to attempting to copy the styles exactly. The reasoning behind this is firstly it will be near on impossible to find something as extravagent and detailed on a highstreet budget, lets face it these pieces are designed to be unattainable for many and that they are! Secondly the looks on the catwalk are quite extreme and I just cannot picture myself strolling down Grafton Street in a full on detailed bodice with a full skirt billowing behind me. Instead I would look for a pieces that contain similar characteristics.
