Insurgent Preview 2015

Hello Beautiful People ❤

Happy Paddy’s Day, aka lets be typical Irish and drink too much 😉 It’s great to see that the celebrations are being carried out around the world. Amazing how our little Island can influence other, larger cities around the world, even if it is just for one day.

Yesterday my friend and I were invited to watch the Preview of Insurgent in Dublin. The Divergent sequel staring Shailene Woodley and Theo James was being shown as a ‘premiere’ for Irish bloggers and movie critics / fanatics.

The movie itself was actually really good. It is not usually my kind of film, but I have to say I was kept interested for the entire thing. My friend felt the same. We were made leave our phones outside with the PR firm hosting the event and I think this was great as it ment no distractions.

I really liked the fact that ‘Tris’ played by Shailene Woodley really looked the part. In a lot of cases the protangonist, particularly female ones, are centred around looking sexy. Now while she still looked amazing, the hair was cut short, there wasn’t loads of makeup and not a crop top in site. It was more about the acting than the sex appeal which doesn’t often happen anymore. I was pleasantly surprised.

Excuse the awkward smile, my face still looks puffy with the invisalign! I really do love the necklace from Newlook, it’s perfect now for Spring and Summer ❤

It was a lovely evening spent with my best friend. The screening was organised extremely well and the location was perfect. I would actually highly recommend seeing the film, particularly if you’ve seen Divergent.

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone ❤

Spring Feels

Hello Beautiful People ❤

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend, it really goes too fast doesn’t it? Today I had an extremely girlie day and attended the Irish Beauty Show. It was great, hectic, but great. I spent far too much money but there were some great bargains to be found so I was one happy bunny leaving.

I went for neutral colours to try and get in the mood for Spring. I love the colour of my new bag as I usually stick with darker tones. It’s always nice to have something brighter to try and get out of the Winter mindset.

I kept my makeup quite neutral too. I used light browns for my eyes and nude / pink-ish lips. This combined with curls made me feel quite uncharacteristically girlie ❤
IMG_1350I will be doing a post about the event tomorrow as I am heading back out tonight. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday guys!

Sunday’s Casual Attire

Hey Guys,

I can’t believe it’s Monday already, where did that weekend go? As I said in my last post, I stayed at home Friday and Saturday due to illness, but Sunday I decided to venture outside. As I was going for dinner, I wanted something comfortable but that still looked remotely decent.

It was of course freezing outside, so I wrapped up in my River Island leather jacket minus the fur (I still love that it is detachable!) My boyfriend also laughed quite a substantial amount at my hat but I still maintain that I love it 🙂

It was lovely to get out of the house and feel normal again for the day. We ended up staying in the place longer than we had originally planned; just eating, drinking and chatting. I don’t think we had planned to eat quite so much food, but we ended up going for the full three courses. I didn’t get a picture of dessert. It didn’t last very long!

I love days like this, they are what Sundays are all about!

I am back on healthy eating today guys and will be doing a post on it this week, so stay tuned. I hope you all had a great weekend 🙂

Slovakian Style Diary

We Travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us

bratislava_castle_and_old_town

Hey Guys,

I’m just home from a wonderful, long weekend in Slovakia. Braislava is a beautiful city which was made even prettier by the snow. We had a great time and ate and drank far too much (which is to be expected) but I will be doing a blog post on that in the coming week. For this particular post, I am going to focus on what I wore as I have been receiving some messages on Facebook and Instagram asking where I purchased everything.

58-1

I am hands down the worst packer in the world! I always leave it until the last minute and am extremely indecisive when it comes to deciding what to bring. For our trip to Bratislava we only had our hand luggage so I had no choice but to be remotely sensible and objective in my choices.

So here is my Slovakian Style Diary

I love my Leather Jacket because the fur trim can actually be removed so it will be useful in the Spring too. I got it for Christmas and it is perfect for these cold mornings, it can be bought Here

My Jeans are the Molly Reform Jeggings and I have these in a range of different colours. They are, in my opinion, the best fitting jeans available. They can be bought for €50.00 Here

I bought my ankle boots in Newlook for an absolute bargain of €27.00 but they don’t appear to be available any more. I did however spot these lovely boots on the Newlook website. You can check them out Here & Here

My Bag is one of my favourite buys of 2014, I love large bags and I was looking for a nice black one for ages. It is from H&M however as it was bought last November, I don’t think it is still available, but I did spot this almost identical option online.

My hat was my saviour for the weekend, it not only protected me from the snow, it also acted as a shield between my hungover face and the Slovakian Airport. In hindsight it is probably the reasoning behind me getting unpleasantly fondled by the airport security. Apparently I looked like a criminal 😛 Anyway it can be bought from H&M and such a bargain at €19.99!

My tartan scarf is actually from Scotland. I bought it a few years back when I was in Edinburgh. This option from River Island however is pretty similar.

My second favourite look from when I was away can be seen below.

My jeans are again the Molly Jeggings (I wasn’t lying when I said they were my favourites!) and they can be bought here. I fell in love with this fur headband when I seen it a few weeks back. I wore it both day and night and it kept me so warm! It was of course an absolute steal in Newlook, check it out here. My knee high boots also came in so handy as they kept me warm in the snow. I bought these in Newlook too, but they don’t seem to be available anymore. I have chosen a few similar options that you can try:

 River Island , H&M

I love quilted coats and the one I’m wearing from Zara has been such a good investment. I think it is sold out at the moment but a very similar one is still available in the store.

Image 2 of SHORT ANORAK WITH FUR COLLAR from Zara

I always tend to keep my outfits casual when I’m away, particularly when the weather is cod. My outfits mainly included turtle necks, skinny jeans and flat boots as you can see. I’m also a sucker for some faux fur which can be seen in both outfits.

So there’s my Slovakian Style Diary, I hope you enjoyed and found the links useful 🙂

Happy Shopping!

Steal her Style: Miranda Kerr

Hey Guys,

I’m a big fan of Miranda Kerr. I know it’s difficult for a top model to look bad, but I do think that she rarely puts a foot wrong in the style stakes. She’s constantly rocking a polished, chic look that somehow still looks effortless. Thigh high boots are everywhere at the moment and this is a great look to not only showcase the trend, but your pins too! Thigh highs can be a tricky trend to pull off in a classy way but this look is incredibly stylish and actually wearable too.
