5 Productivity Tips: Make the Most of Your Day

Hello Beautiful People

Is anybody else finding that the months are just flying?

I decided to do this post as I am finding that my days are gone before I know it, which is great when you’re in work (not so great at weekends!) but I do find myself constantly rushing around trying to make sure everything gets finished. I highly doubt I am the only one like this, so I have done some research on how to make your day as productive as possible. Continue reading

Irish Beauty Show

Hello Beautiful People ❤

I hope you’re all having a wonderful Monday, if there is such a thing?! I’m just doing a quick post today on The Irish Beauty Show, which I attended yesterday, you can check out my outfit details here.

I haven’t seen the RDS so busy since the Off the Rails Event I went to a few years ago. There were literally people everywhere. It was great to see a turnout so good, especially like minded beauty lovers like myself. I didn’t go up with the intention of buying anything, but realistically when has that ever stopped any female on the planet?

I’m really excited to use my new hair dryer, I have so much hair that I often find it difficult to get one that can withstand the usage. I’m hoping this one will do the trick.

My other favourite buy from yesterday is Lip Voltage’s The Powerhouse. I’m currently testing out Lip Voltage and apparently this is a step up. I’m not sure if I’m excited or scared!

This contour brush from Powder ‘n’ Pout is such a close match to the Nars Ita brush which costs about €50.00. This option was only €13.50! I’m going to test it out and if the quality is good I will definitely be investing in more of their brushes! They are opening an online store soon so I will keep you posted 🙂IMG_1391I did get a few other bits and pieces and I will be putting together a sneaky little giveaway soon, so stay tuned ladies. I hope anyone else who went had as good a time as I did, I will definitely be going back next year to nab some bargains ❤

Of course we couldn’t pass Avoca on the way home. It has to be one of my favourite places to eat and just have a mooch around. Perfect way to end our Sunday.

Product Review; Whiter Teeth at Home

Hey Guys,

So it’s Monday yet again and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today’s post is about getting whiter teeth at home and of course on a budget!

I am a fanatic about teeth and I am on a mission to improve mine where possible. I am quite self conscious about my own teeth. You may have noticed I don’t always do a big ‘open mouthed’ smile in pictures. This is because I dislike my teeth A LOT. I am in the process of getting invisalign and I will be doing upcoming posts on my own personal experience with them, so watch this space.

As I am currently awaiting my moulds, I don’t think it’s appropriate to get my teeth whitened professionally, as soon they are going to be covered by the retainer. I do however want my teeth as white as they can be for the time being. I find a lot of ‘whitening’ toothpastes don’t actually work. To be honest I don’t think it’s possible to fully achieve the Hollywood smile from at home products especially if you’re a coffee addict like myself. I have however come across a tooth paste that has made my teeth significantly whiter and I would highly recommend it:

The only place that I can find this product is Superdrug. I go to the one in The Square, Tallaght. The toothpaste costs about €6.00 but it’s the only toothpaste that has made a real difference without being too abrasive. I have sensitive teeth but it hasn’t impacted me in that aspect at all. It’s great for anyone who doesn’t want to splash out on professional whitening but still wants brighter teeth.

Be warned the toothpaste comes out black as it contains charcoal to aid in the whitening process. This is normal, don’t feel like there is something wrong with yours!

I hope you’re all having a fabulous Monday and have kicked off the week with a positive attitude 🙂

5 Ways to Brighten your Day

Hey Guys,

The usual Monday blues seem to have escalated for this particular week. Everywhere I looked today people were complaining about lack of sleep, not wanting to go to work etc via social media. To be fair I was right there with them. I think as the festive season is now in full swing, so too are the alcoholic beverages and late nights. This usually results in a not so funday Monday. So I decided to draw up a small list of things that you can do to brighten up the rest of your week (hopefully!)

Eat Chocolate

Studies have shown that  who isn’t happy when they are eating chocolate? No explanation needed.

Listen to Music

Music has long been an excellent mood enhancer. Grab your earphones and play an upbeat tune that makes you want to shake that bum! Avoid sad, love songs as, well this isn’t going to help brighten anyone’s day, in fact it is likely to do the opposite. No opt instead for a song that will put a smile on your face whilst singing a long. My tune for today is Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.

 Make a List

It has been proven that if you write yourself a list for the day, your mood will get a boost. You feel proactive and organised as you have set yourself clear goals for the day. These may be as small as picking something up in the shop or getting petrol. It doesn’t matter. When you get to tick off each ‘to do’ you will also get a sense of satisfaction. Get writing and ticking.

Be Kind

Being nice is a choice, I have long said this. Being kind towards someone will not only make them feel good, it gives you an added boost too. A kind gesture can be as large or small as you choose. It is not something that requires measurement. Think of how good you will feel once you have made someone else happy.

 Resist the Urge to Complain

This is completely ironic coming from me. I am a grade one complainer, particularly when I am tired or hungover (both of which I am today!) however I read before that the idea is to trick yourself into thinking you are not in bad humour. Acting positively and avoiding negative thoughts will help to persuade your brain to feel happy. It sounds really cheesy I know, but I have been trying it so far today and well I haven’t slapped anyone, so in my mind it is working remarkably well.

So go fourth and become a Positive Polly tomorrow. Spend your day being nice, dancing your ass off and eating loads of chocolate!

Until next time My Loves
