NYFW Favourites

Hey Guys,

Anyone who knows me will know that New York Fashion Week is like my Christmas. I have been glued to every and any online outlet for the designs since the shows kicked off. One of these days I will get there and be witnessing it all first hand. One day…..

I couldn’t wait to see the Victoria Beckham show as I think her designs are amazing. Needless to say the catwalk did not disappoint. Diane von Furstenberg and Michael Kors are also firm favourites of mine. So here are some of my top picks from the shows so far, I hope you enjoy 🙂

Victoria Beckham

 Diane von Furstenberg

Oscar de la Renta

Monique Lhuillier

Tommy Hilfiger

Zac Posen

 Michael Kors

Herve Leger by Max Azria

I particularly admired Peter Copping’s designs for Oscar de la Renta, which did not disappoint despite the late namesake not being this year’s creator.

The FROW’s style was also particularly admirable as always. I will be doing more on some of their looks later in the week.

It’s all White

Hey Guys,

The trend I’m focusing on today is White. It was seen across numerous catwalks in each Fashion Week and so is definitely a style to embrace. The white colour was used in a number of different ways; from the androgynous tailored offerings from Zac Posen to the feminine and delicate shapes seen at the Michael Kors’ show.

The cigarette pant like the white ones pictured, are ideal for those who may not always want to brave the white skinny jeans. They are much more flattering than the unforgiving alternative. They are great teamed with loafers or smartened up with a pair of heels. Tip: make sure the trousers have a lining and wont end up looking see through when out in natural light.

I’m a big fan of the high neck tops and dresses and so I fell in love with this dress from Missguided. It’s very chic and elegant and can be worn even when your not feeling your slimmest. It will hide an abundance of sins! Tip: A necklace is not needed for this ensemble nor are overly large earrings. They will detract from the simplistic look of the dress. Opt for minimal jewellery and let the dress do the talking.

H&M €29.99

A white shirt is a style staple for any season. This kind of purchase will last you through numerous outfits. It is an investment. The white is extremely versatile and has been a designer favourite for years. You won’t regret buying a white shirt that fits you well. Tip: Similar to the cigarette pants, it is important to make sure that the shirt isn’t too thin and therefore see through. Opting for a shirt that is a balance between formal and casual will also ensure that you can wear it with any outfit!

Opting for white will give a clean, fresh look to your outfit. If this is what you want to achieve then ensure you chose a crisp white as opposed to cream or off white colourings. Here are some more white bargain buys currently available:

Hey Guys,

So New York Fashion Week has just concluded with London Fashion week commencing. For me and anyone else who shares my love for fashion, this is the equivalent to the Superbowl kicking off. I have been keeping a close eye on all the looks from NYC’s incredible shows in order to bring you the best bits (in my opinion!) I will be doing the same for the London shows too. I will definitely be having a look on the highstreet to find some similar options for those of us who don’t have €2k to drop on a dress 🙂

From the minimalist colours and full skirts on offer from Michael Kors to the ultra feminine dresses from Oscar de la Renta , it’s safe to say that once again the iconic New York week of fashion and fabulousness did not disappoint! So here are my favourite pieces from this year’s NYFW:

Michael Kors

Oscar de la Renta

Victoria Beckham

Calvin Klein
