As my last few posts have been all about Fashion Week, I thought today’s post should be dedicated to the stars who graced these shows and looked flawless. From SJP to Olivia Palermo, of course the Frow was as stylish as the pieces being modelled down the catwalk.
Attending the Calvin Klein Spring 2015 show, Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted rocking this statement blue coat, a possible ode to the upcoming tailored trend. Of course SJP would have to put her own twist on this trend and opt for such a striking colour; something only she could pull off. It’s very Ms. Bradshaw and perfectly suitable for the streets of New York.
Attending the Desigual show during New York Fashion Week, Olivia Palermo looked exquisite as always in one of Desiqual’s designs. Always one to opt for something a little different and lot more fabulous, she looked completely unique and beautiful. I’m loving the cute and chic hair she chose for her look along with the clashing clutch.
One Fashion Week is clearly not enough for this style icon. Ms. Palermo effectively hopped the pond to the London shows and managed to remain equally as stylish as the previous week. She chose to go head to toe in Burberry Prorsum FW14 in a ombre lace dress, co-ordinated with a chic belted scarf to complete her look. That hair is also phenomenal! Leather on Leather was also a look she used, more than likely to keep warm in the less than fantastic London weather. She still manages to make double leather look ladylike and sophisticated, something that is not an easy task.
Two of the ultimate style icons today, completely knocked it out of the park with their Fashion Week styles. I don’t think either ever seem to put a foot wrong when it comes to selecting outfits and act as perfect inspiration for my next shopping haul.
Victoria Beckham has steadily become a style icon over the past few years. She has transformed herself from classic perma-tanned ‘WAG’ to an accredited and talented fashion designer. I know sometimes she receives some bad reviews based on her weight and her constant pout, however I think she comes across very well in interviews and through her posts on social media. Love her or hate her, there’s no denying the woman knows fashion!
Here are some high-street steals to copy her style:

Donatella Versace showcased her Fall 2014 Couture collection yesterday on the runway of Paris Fashion Week. Always a highly anticipated show, Atelier Versace did not disappoint. Fashion Week is great for determining what styles are to be watched for the following season. My personal favourites are New York and Paris Fashion Week, saying that London’s Fashion Week is pretty incredible too. After I look at the shows, I try to find similar styles off the high street (yes surprisingly I opt not to spend a small fortune on one of these amazing pieces!) I think the highstreet has become a lot better at intercepting these styles and providing us mere mortals with purse friendly options.
Versace’s catwalk showcased metallic, pastel hues to bright cobalt and
royal blues as the colours of Fall 2014. I personally love vibrant blues, I feel they really compliment any colouring! Structuring, high necklines, full skirts and jumpsuits also dominated the catwalk, indicating these styles will be huge for Fall 2014. Sheer paneling and a front or side split will also remain popular into Autumn. Black of course was also present and is a classic colouring that can be used for any occasion and season with Navy making an appearance too; a great alternative to black! Metallic bands and cuffs were quite popular within this collection. This can be incorporated around the neck, ankles and waist to achieve the designer look.
Personally when I look at the shows and the styles present, I choose to use them as a guide line as opposed to attempting to copy the styles exactly. The reasoning behind this is firstly it will be near on impossible to find something as extravagent and detailed on a highstreet budget, lets face it these pieces are designed to be unattainable for many and that they are! Secondly the looks on the catwalk are quite extreme and I just cannot picture myself strolling down Grafton Street in a full on detailed bodice with a full skirt billowing behind me. Instead I would look for a pieces that contain similar characteristics.
