As you will know from my previous posts, I am a big fan of natural remedies, particularly ones that can be done with as minimal effort as possible. I personally don’t have a lot of spare time so I love to find products that have numerous uses and therefore save not only money but also time and effort. Honey is a prime example of this.
Honey is not only excellent for curbing a sweet tooth and healing a sore throat, it is also fantastic for your skin. Full to the brim of anti-bacterial properties, honey can have a huge impact on skin improvement. Now when I say honey, I mean the purest form you can get. Always try opt for organic, raw honey to avoid any hidden ingredients.
Keeping skin healthy is extremely important all year round, but in Winter, the weather can be quite rough on our skin. Using something natural and gentle on your skin is therefore ideal.
Honey is jam packed full of enzymes that help clear your pores and actually keep them clear. Due to the fact that honey has natural antibacterial properties, it also aids in the prevention of breakouts too. Mixing together 1 tbsp of raw honey with 2 tbsp of coconut oil can act as a perfect, gentle cleanser for your skin. Massage it into your face and rinse well with warm water (NOT hot water!) I’m going to start trying this once I’ve removed my make-up to ensure my skin is completely clear.
I am not usually a bath person but I think I will have to try this out. I have read that adding 2 tbsp of raw honey to your bath will significantly benefit your skin all over. It will help hydrate and soften your skin leaving you feeling relaxed with super soft skin. Perfect for unwinding after a long week.
Moisturising Face Mask
Honey not only purifies the skin it also aids in hydration. After you have cleansed your skin, spread 1 tbsp of raw honey on your face. Allocate 15 minutes to allow it to set properly and rinse with warm water. Make sure you rinse well, otherwise you will be left with sticky patches on your face; not ideal!
So there you go, one product with numerous different uses, all of which are natural and beneficial to your skin!
Hope you Enjoy 🙂
