We all know the day after Christmas means one thing (aside from more over eating and drinking) it is of course the post Christmas sales. As I previously worked in retail for 6 years and the fact that I am a self confessed shopaholic, I know how to sale shop!
While there are great bargains to be found, there are also in many cases old products from the back of the stock room thrown out onto the floor too. So you the shopper is often left wading through stock from two seasons ago, just to find the styles you have been looking for. So I have picked out my favourites from this year’s sales to hopefully help you safe some time, effort and of course money!
I personally try not to buy anything that is too ‘this season’ during the sales as I always fall in love with the new stock coming into the stores. I only ever pick something that I know I will like this time next year too, hence nothing that is associated too much with a particular trend.
As always I’ve been shopping online (for Christmas presents I swear!) and I have been oggling over some of the new pieces currently available from my favourite retailers. As always there is a mixture in the price range, meaning they are definitely on my Winter Wish List for this week. They are perfect for your Santa List, wink wink, nudge nudge!
Top 5 on this week’s Winter Wish List:
€60.00 River Island
€157.57 KG by Kurt Geiger
€45.00 Miss Selfridge
I’m will be keeping an eye on the latest additions to the highstreet each week and keeping you guys updated in terms of what I am falling in love with 🙂
“I’ll stop wearing black, when they invent a darker colour”
Black is one of my favourite colours to wear, I think it is so classic and timeless and a good quality black piece is always worth an investment! Never has there been a colour that is so versatile and can be worn with anything, by anyone. How many times have you struggled to find shoes / jacket to go with an outfit and ended up opting for black? If you’re anything like me, then quite often! I think black works particularly well throughout winter and in the run up to Christmas. Let’s be honest, if it’s good enough for Audrey and Coco, then it is definitely good enough for me!
Here are some of the best black pieces currently available on the high-street and online at the moment. I have a feeling this will be a recurring feature on my blog in the run up to Christmas as there are always new stylish offerings being introduced.
I have been loving the smart casual look of late and have decided to dedicate this post to that topic. I think Autumn can be quite a difficult season for people when it comes to outfits for nights out. Gone is the Summer attire (sigh) and its not yet time to go all full on glam for the Christmas party season. I always hear people asking what the best outfit option is for a night out or work event that isn’t too under / over dressed. Smart/Casual is the way forward for Autumn in my opinion. Dressy enough so that you feel great but not too over the top so that you feel, well if you’re like me; like a bit of an idiot! 😛
My favourite thing to do is choose a staple colour like black and mix it with an AW colour such as burnt orange. Autumn months tend to be full of events and nights out so here are some outfit ideas I have created to ensure you make the most of them! Hope you guys enjoy 🙂

At the moment I am LOVING winged tote bags! They have such a designer look to them and will add sophistication to any outfit. They are perfect if you love big bags (I do!) and they’re great for any occasion; work, shopping, college and great for events. A multitude of secrets can be bundled into these bad boys a la Marry Poppins 🙂 Here are some of my favourites currently available on the high street at the mo, happy shopping 🙂
