It is almost time for the bank holiday weekend so I hope you’re all planning to spend it whatever way makes you happy (not working I hope!) Today’s post is all about little tips and tricks I’ve been given about eating healthily or trying to in my case. I know there are so many great fitness and work out plans out there, I just find that sometimes us ordinary gals struggle with time and well to be honest motivation. Sunday’s Casual Attire

Hey Guys,

I can’t believe it’s Monday already, where did that weekend go? As I said in my last post, I stayed at home Friday and Saturday due to illness, but Sunday I decided to venture outside. As I was going for dinner, I wanted something comfortable but that still looked remotely decent.

It was of course freezing outside, so I wrapped up in my River Island leather jacket minus the fur (I still love that it is detachable!) My boyfriend also laughed quite a substantial amount at my hat but I still maintain that I love it 🙂

It was lovely to get out of the house and feel normal again for the day. We ended up staying in the place longer than we had originally planned; just eating, drinking and chatting. I don’t think we had planned to eat quite so much food, but we ended up going for the full three courses. I didn’t get a picture of dessert. It didn’t last very long!

Confessions of a Secret Snacker

Hey Guys,

I’ve actually been dreading doing this post primarily due to the fact that I didn’t just over eat over the festive period. I went to town. I had planned to give myself a two week pass to over indulge and enjoy myself over Christmas, however I think I may have gone a little over board. I am definitely feeling the affects now, but I’m not even a little bit sorry. I had a great Christmas and I don’t regret a thing!

As I am back to work as of yesterday, I have decided to get back into healthy eating. I was initially considering doing  a detox however I know I wouldn’t stick to it. Between trying to get my sleep pattern back into shape and also working and commuting, I know I will be lacking in energy and craving junk food. Like many others who work in an office, I hit a slump mid afternoon and so I need to ensure I have enough food to keep me satisfied.

I am going to ease myself back into this healthy eating craic and slowly reintroduce my exercise plan, which I completely neglected over the past few weeks. For me personally I think this works best as I know if I completely cut out everything, I will cave and end up binging which of course defeats the purpose!

I am NOT cutting out carbs and coffee, which I see many people doing. This is for two reasons; firstly if I don’t have carbs I will be hungry as I have built up a larger appetite now over Christmas, in which I had enough white carbohydrates to last an average person about six months! I need to slowly decrease my appetite and allow my stomach to shrink back down. Secondly I am not cutting out coffee because, well mainly due to the fact I will hurt someone if I don’t get my caffeine fix.

I am instead switching to complex carbs and focusing on wholemeal, organic and gluten free pasta and bread as a replacement for the pizza, chips and white bread & pasta that I was indulging in. I am however cutting out fizzy drinks and alcohol as it is unnecessary sugar and toxins. My liver needs a break for a few weeks too.

As with any healthy eating commencement, I do hope to avoid the usual bold (but so yummy) foods such as chocolate, crisps, cakes, takeaways and so on. I have a feeling that I will be having some withdrawal symptoms over the next two weeks. My body will more than likely go into shock due to lack of sugar and alcohol, so pray for me!

I will get back to doing this post now once a week and will keep you guys updated on my progress.

NYE Outfit

Hey Guys,

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and Day. Wherever you were and with whomever you spent it with, I hope you celebrated in style. I’ve decided to do my first post of 2015 based on what I wore to ring in the New Year.

I usually opt for silver jewellery and perhaps a bit of bling for New Year’s Eve however this year I was a bit stuck for time so opted for a little change. Instead I stuck with muted colours with gold and bronze accessories. All the items I wore were quite reasonable and I will definitely get more wear out of them individually.

Confessions of a Secret Snacker

Hey Guys,

Sorry I haven’t kept up to date with my Secret Snacker posts, I have a lot to confess! Considering that we are now in December and in full Christmas mode, I won’t be too hard on myself. I think I will rate my over all snacking habits as medium. This is mainly due to the fact that there is so much food currently residing in my house and  it is not only half of what’s to come. The picture left could probably represent only one of my presses. So I think the fact that I haven’t been found in a food coma surrounded by said food’s wrappers, is an accomplishment in itself.

I have been quite good with my meals throughout the week. I’m still opting for wholemeal carbs and trying to incorporate protein into each meal. I’m basically trying not to over indulge, however I am slipping still at the weekends. I am slightly losing hope about my weekend eating habits. As Christmas is fast approaching, so too are the numerous nights out and dinner dates! I’m just not willing to sacrifice my social life at my favourite time of year. Alcohol and chocolate have been both my biggest loves and biggest downfalls to date. It really is a love/hate affair.

I am craving carbs due to the cold weather and find that when I deprive myself, I binge as I am still hungry. It is always the case in the Winter that when you are cold, your appetite increases as you are burning more calories to stay warm. I am therefore trying to move away from my usually snacking eating habits and incorporate larger meals into my daily diet. However by it’s very definition, my HABIT of snacking is not so easily kicked. I have noticed over the last two weeks I am in fact eating the bigger meals but also snacking, in many cases without even realising.

I am also craving cheese which is very unlike me. I have however developed a new found obsession with it and want it with every meal. Not good for the waistline and I find that my craving is actually leading me to unhealthier foods that I’m having with the cheese; burgers, pasta bake etc.

True Story:

On my good days I am trying to trick my body and substitute chocolate with Nakd bars. They are completely vegan and definitely a better option to my usual bar (or 3) of chocolate. My favourites are Cashew Cookie, Pecan Pie and Rhubarb & Custard. I know one a day is optimal but I find myself hungry on my journey home from work and sometimes opt for a second. I think I really need to work on the convenience food addiction. Homemade food is much better, I just need to stop being so lazy!

I think I may need to re-evaluate my Medium rating!
