Can you believe we are almost in 2018? This year has gone by far too quickly hasn’t it?
I’ve tried out so many beauty, skincare and hair products in 2017. Some of which I’ve really loved and some not so much. I generally chat about any disappointing products on my Snapchat (@DayDreamerChic) so I figured I would do a round up of my favourites here on the blog.
These are products that I have been using for the majority of 2017 and in some cases, products I’ve loved for a number of years. I always feel like January is a good time to invest in new beauty products, so hopefully this is of some use to you!
Kerastase Reflection – Shampoo, Conditioner & Treatment
Probably my favourite products of the year! I can honestly say this range has transformed my hair. I use the treatment once a week as an addition to the shampoo and conditioner and my hair is finally in a good place (despite the extra bleach used!)
I get mine in Millies.ie (here) and it lasts me 2-3 months (treatment about 5 months) I would recommend buying a gift set if you’re looking to buy all three. You generally get more bang for you buck with a free shampoo or treatment!
John Frieda – Root Boosting Spray
My hair is naturally quite flat and honestly it’s such a pain! This volumising product is one of the few that actually works for me. It’s probably the only one I buy time and time again. I just spritz it on wet hair and then brush through before drying.
Beauty / Makeup
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Modern Renaissance Palette
I have finally found an eye shadow palette where I have wanted to use every single shade (generally I like about 60% of what is included) The pigments are really strong and there isn’t too much fallout. I never thought I’d find something to rival the Naked 2 palette, but I’m such a fan of this! It’s so worth the money and it lasts ages.
I got mine on BeautyBay.com (here)
SoSu by SJ – Complete Contour Palette
I’m usually more of a powder contour kinda gal, but this has the best of both worlds. I really love the concealer for nights out. It’s so thick and creamy and really does hide my zombie like eyes! I love that you can set your contour and concealer with the one palette (just because I’m lazy) plus the highlighter is amazing.
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Dipbrow Pomade
I’ve loved this one for a long time now. I’ve mentioned before about how I’ve struggled to find products to fill in my brows (shout out to the beautician who RUINED my eyebrows a few years back! They have yet to recover fully!) This however, has become my everyday essential. I literally put it on anytime I am leaving the house.
I get it from BeautyBay.com (here) and it lasts ages too!
Kiss – False Eyelashes
Anyone else have a love / hate relationship with false lashes? Sometimes I love them and other times, I feel they can close your eye, so I’m quite fussy! Funnily enough I adore probably the cheapest brand out there. I find the Kiss lashes are the easiest to apply and never stress me out!
I get them in Penneys and that seems to be the cheapest place to buy them.
MAC – ‘Pinch Me’ Blusher AAAAND Flormar – ‘Pure Peach’ Blusher
One of my favourite blushers of all time is MAC ‘Pinch Me’ and I’ve used it for about two years now. Over the Summer (having forgot it on holidays) I actually bought a Flormar blush in ‘Pure Peach’ and they are so similar. The pigment and lasting power are great and both are matte. The Flormar one is more cost effective, so I tend to use that for everyday use and switch to MAC when I wannabe fancy!
No7 – Hydration Mask
If you follow my blog for a while now, you’ll know I love this one! I find that some hydrating products can make my skin break out, but not this mask. It doesn’t leave the skin greasy at all. I’ve yet to find another hydrating face mask to rival this one.
I get it in Boots (here) and No7 always have offers and discounts on, so be sure to keep an eye out!
Lancome – Renergie Multi Lift Eye Cream
I started using this a few months back and I really like it. I suffer really badly with bags under my eyes and this has helped. I feel like the skin around my eyes is more plump and looks less tired and for want of a better word; saggy.
I got it in Debenhams (here), but I always find Lancome gift sets can be good if there are a few products you are after. It’s much cheaper than buying individually.
Elizabeth Arden – Eight Hour Cream Lip Balm
Cold weather combined with constantly having the heating on, can leave my lips a little dry in the Winter. I also try to take extra care of them since having lip fillers in October (read all about it here) and The Eight Hour Cream really works from me. It’s also great for putting on top of a lipstick if it gets too drying.
I get it in Debenhams (here) and I actually love the entire Eight Hour Cream range, so I’d highly recommend!
So that rounds up my top ten products of 2017! I have a few more brands that I have just started to use and I will do reviews in the coming months. The products I’m most excited to try are Image Skincare, Dermaplump and also I have more lipsticks I’ve been eager to test out.
I will keep you all posted about my thoughts on the above and would love to hear what your favourite products are?
All My Love,
