I’m home a week now from my holiday (sob) and am already noticing the difference in my beauty regime. I always tend to change it up slightly while I’m away. When you’re in a country with a much higher temperature (which is basically anywhere in comparison to Ireland!) I find that a lighter makeup works better.
Firstly I never wear makeup during the day whilst away. I personally feel that makeup sinks into my skin in the heat, so it just leaves pores clogged and my face feeling shiny. It’s a different story in the evenings however, I think we all like to get dolled up a bit when going for dinner and drinks.
Primer: NYX Liquid Illuminator / Foundation: Rimmel Wake Me Up (200 soft beige) / Concealer & Contour: Sleek Contour Palette / Highlighter: Catrice / Blush: Nars Orgasim / Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked 3 palette / Lipgloss: NYX (‘Vanilla Cream Pie’ & I also used ‘Apple Struddle’) / Brows: Sleek Eyebrow Palette in Dark Brown
I always bring a face mask also as I feel my skin can look a little tired after a few too many nights out. The No7 Hydrating Mask is a personal favourite especially in the hot weather, when skin is likely to become dryer.
Instead of a heavy perfume, I also opted for this Victoria Secrets body mist which smelt amazing. It’s light, summery yet girly. I wore it day and night and just loved it.
This rose gold hair brush and mirror compact was also extremely handy. It fit perfectly into my small clutch bag for the evenings and it was €2.50 in Penneys. The brush holder was another great find in Penneys. It saved me having to squish my brushes into a makeup bag and damaging them (which is usually what happens!)
So overall I switched to a lighter foundation and turned to lipgloss as opposed to lipstick to give a more Summery look.
