Sorry this week’s diet and fitness post is a little late!
I did the mini detox that I outlined in last week’s Bikini Body post (read here) and I was feeling great. I did it Monday to Wednesday, but did slightly up my calorie intake on Thursday. I was full of energy and seeing instant progress.
Until the Bank Holiday hit….
Too much food, too much alcohol, but a lot of fun all the same. As soon as Friday evening came, I was in holiday mode. Holiday mode for me means eating and drinking all the bad stuff. I was only going to Galway! (haha)
When Monday evening came, I felt awful. You will have seen on Snapchat (DayDreamerChic) that I was annoyed at myself for how much I’d let the healthy eating slip, yet again. It’s all down to alcohol!
I was reminded that my holiday is in less than 8 weeks. Meaning I really do need to get my act together. You all know I’m not on about being as skinny as possible. It’s more a case of feeling comfortable by the pool!
For the next 8 weeks I’m not cutting out any food groups. When you go back to eating these on holiday (which I of course will) your body finds them harder to digest. I am however laying off the alcohol and instead opting for the water. Lots of it. I’m also refusing to weigh myself and focusing on how I look and feel instead.
I’m not aiming for the ‘perfect’ bikini body, because there really is no such thing. We all have different perceptions of what the ideal figure looks like, so being comfortable in your own skin is much more important.
I will be back on Monday with some more positive diet updates (and plenty of food pics!) In the meantime I’ll be updating my Instagram daily, if you want to check it out.
