Hello Beautiful People,
How is your healthy eating going? Are you ready for another week?
As you know from last week’s foodie post (here) I had developed the all too familiar ‘Bikini Fear’ – a common occurrence in the run up to the Summer months!
I ate healthy 70% of the week, while I know this is not fantastic, it is an improvement. One which I hope to progress for this coming week. I always try to eat my best Monday to Friday. I did allow myself chocolate everyday (just a small bit) as otherwise I crave it and end up eating far too much.
These are both great, if like me you have a sweet tooth but don’t want to overindulge!
I was doing well up until Thursday, when I had chocolate biscuit cake and some jellies! While I was initially a little disappointed in myself, I realised that I don’t want to be that person sitting at a Birthday party miserable, because everyone else is having cake. Sometimes you need to decide that life is for living.
As you will know, I don’t ‘diet’ on weekends. I have tried, I have failed and I end up feeling bad. Now I just accept that I’ve no willpower whilst at home and just opt to enjoy my weekend. This is why I try to ensure I eat well Monday through to Friday.
The weekend always equals at least one meal out, this week’s choice was Thai!
You will have also seen on my Snapchat, that on Saturday evening we had a relaxed night in filled with chocolate and planning Summer adventures. I ended up eating all my chocolate and had to persuade Ciaran to share – standard!
I did however stick to my guns with the green tea and while I really amn’t a fan of the taste, I have to admit my energy levels increased significantly. This week I am going to aim for two cups a day. I am also sticking with my daily breakfast: porridge with berries & almond milk. It is the only thing that keeps me full!
I’m hoping to increase my overall healthy eating to 80% this week. I don’t plan on cutting out any particular food group completely. I’ve noticed that in previous years, I’ve been quite strict in the run up to my holidays, only to go and over indulge whilst away. I then end up feeling ten times worse because I’ve been so careful in the weeks previous. I’m going to just try and maintain a healthy balance, so that my body doesn’t go into a state of shock while I’m away.
Don’t forget to let me know how you’re getting on!
All My Love
