Confessions of a Secret Snacker | Healthy, Wholesome Food

Hello Beautiful People,

I hope your day is going well? I was feeing quite run down towards the end of last week and all through the weekend. After a much needed chat / lecture with my best friend, I decided to take Friday – Sunday off from healthy eating and exercise. Even on the other side of the world, she still knows what’s best for me! Instead I focused on getting more sleep, face masks and having some sweet treats here and there.

I’m such an advocate for balance in all aspects of life, but somehow seem to let this slip over the last few weeks. Now because I took a few days off, I feel much more ‘invigorated’ and ready to get back to good, wholesome food.

For the rest of the week I’m cutting down on dairy and sugar and I’m going to focus on immune boosting foods that will improve my mood, energy levels and my skin. As you all know I’m such a lover of Alpro Soya products, I’m that annoying person in the office that wants to get the almond or soya milk for the tea!

I’m not lactose intolerant, I do still eat cheese etc, but I am a little apprehensive when it comes to dairy. About two years ago, I switched to almond milk or soya light. I actually prefer the taste now too.

My favourite Smoothie: handful of Strawberries, 1/2 banana, plain soya yogurt & some soya milk, with a little coconut sprinkled on top.

I have previously mentioned in my foodie posts that I believe a healthy breakfast actually kickstarts a healthy mindset for the day. This is what I will be focusing on. I included my breakfast food prep on Snapchat last night (daydreamerchic) which included Alpro yogurt and plenty of fruit, topped with some protein granola from Kelkin.

I’m going to try and keep this momentum going throughout the week and not let everything get on top of me. I’m focusing on nutritious food as opposed to ‘low fat’ or ‘low calorie’ – I’m also going to stock up on the greens; kale and spinach are definitely getting thrown into a few smoothies this week.

So this time next week, I won’t just be evaluating weight, I’m going to review my skin, energy and just in general how I feel. I will keep you guys posted! I’ll also be doing updates as always on my Instagram & Snapchat.
