How has your healthy eating been going?
As you will know I was doing well-ish until my mini holiday to Prague. I’m not going to lie, I ate everything in sight and I wasn’t one bit sorry. I’m such a foodie and when I’m away, I love to enjoy myself. I don’t believe in diets or calorie counting when I’m trying to enjoy myself abroad. Now in saying that, it’s all well and good until you get home and you not only feel like a couch potato, you genuinely resemble one.
I have a post coming this week about my favourite bars and restaurants in Prague and when you read it, you will realise that I’m not joking about the food intake!
If you’ve been watching my snapchat (daydreamerchic) you will have seen that I was struggling to get back to healthy eating when I got home. I think my appetite had grown so much over the few days away, that I was constantly hungry trying to adapt.
Friday however was the final straw.
I had the ultimate cheat day and then decided to (finally) draw the line under my over indulging. I know it’s weird to start eating healthily on a Saturday, but I think Mondays are hard enough as it is without the added restriction of my favourite foods.
I have stuck to my guns for the last three days and I’m going to do my best over the coming week, with my cheat day being the 14th. I’m using Valentines day to celebrate my love for food more than anything else (haha)
What I’ve been eating:
My go to snack at the moment has been non-fat cottage cheese and ryvita. It’s actually really satisfying and distracts me from the chocolate cravings. I also love that a number of toppings can be added to stop me getting bored!
I’ve also been loving the Kelkin 100cal popcorn snacks. They’re perfect for movie nights! I’ve been avoiding the usual addition of maltesers though as it’s not possible to just have ‘a few’
I’m also sticking with porridge and soya milk or eggs for breakfast. I’m a big believer that if you have a healthy breakfast, it starts you off on the right path for the day. If I have an unhealthy start to the day, I end up picking at junk food. It’s all about mindset!
I will be keeping you all updated on Snapchat and Instagram and I’m hoping that by this time next week, I will have some great results to share with you all 🙂 I’m also going to step on the dreaded scales tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed that there will be improvement within the week.
