I hope your day is going well? I’ve been really busy the last few weeks. I’m not complaining, I love to have a feeling of productivity. I say this après coffee of course!
As I mentioned in my most recent foodie post; Confessions of a Secret Snacker, my diet hasn’t been going so well lately. Tiredness always leads me to chocolate, so this week I’ve been opting for some healthier alternatives. This ‘recipe’ takes two minutes and is great for munching on what you want something sweet.
You just need to get fruit that you like, I opted for apples and strawberries. Then some good quality dark chocolate. I picked up the one below in a dash to Tesco the other day.
Chop your fruit (if necessary) and then melt your dark chocolate.
Pick a topping of your choice, I went with two options: Coconut + Flaxseed.
Once your chocolate has melted, dip your fruit in so that half of it is covered. Then roll on the coconut or flaxseed.
Pop into the fridge and let the chocolate harden.
If you’re going with a fruit like apples that have a bit of a crunch, make sure you place them in a sealed container to keep fresh. Otherwise they can go soft and lose the appeal.
After having one too many Malteasers the other night watching Netflix (it’s so easily done isn’t it?) I swapped the junk food for these healthy alternatives and was feeling a little less guilty.
