Happy Sunday to you all! The weather this week has been amazing hasn’t it? It’s a pity I can’t say the same for my diet. There really is something about the sunshine in Ireland that makes me throw caution to the wind. I’ve been eating and drinking whatever I please. I think it’s the novelty of this mystical, yellow glow that emerges through the clouds that has me dreaming (and consuming) ice-cream, wine and tapas. Actually those three words sum up my week perfectly.
I feel bad now as I’m recalling all that I ate, but at the time aka the sunshine days, I genuinely did not care! I think it’s the excitement of having some heat and sunny evenings that makes you want to enjoy yourself. To be honest to anyone else who was the same this week (I’m hoping I’m not the only one) I think we are justified.
Note how I’ve moved from I to we to take make it feel more acceptable!
How often do we get weeks like this? There’s a reason people were calling it the Irish Summer so I don’t necessarily feel as bad as I maybe should. As I always say life is all about balance. However I have noticed that I tend to say this more when I have eaten too much!
Me this week:
I am trying to get back on track but weekends are tougher for me. I’m usually a lot more lenient especially Saturday nights / Sundays. So when Monday comes around, I will be trying to stick to just my three cheat meals for the week and eating good, wholesome food.
