I hope you’re all having a lovely day? As you will know from my previous posts, I like to try focus on the good when it comes to writing for my little blog. That’s not to say we don’t all have down days, I’ve often posted pieces that talk about dealing with anxiety and low self esteem. Lets be honest the majority deal with these kind of issues, unfortunately sometimes more than we would like. So… to continue on my path of positivity, I’ve compiled a list of 10 Things We Should Do Everyday
1 – Drink 2 litres of water a day
Water will not only hydrate you and give you more energy, it will also boost your appearance dramatically. If I was to list the benefits of drinking water, I’d be here all day. The bottom line is you know it’s good for you, just drink it!
2 – Tell somebody you love them
This does not necessarily have to be a romantic gesture. It just has to be genuine. It’s a phrase that is not used enough in an honest manner. Tell your parents, grandparents, partner or even your dog that you love them. Just don’t say it to strangers, that won’t make them love you back 😉
3 – Smile
Smiling is so underrated these days. It’s more difficult to be in bad humour when you have a smile on your face. It genuinely is the prettiest thing a person can wear! Plus smiling at someone might make them feel a little bit better about their day, you just never know.
4 – Get rid of the Excuses
Excuses don’t lend themselves to progress. Just admit to yourself why something happened or didn’t happen. Being honest with yourself will let you see what needs to change. Let it go and focus on not allowing the same thing happen again.
5 – Give yourself a treat
Well simply because life is too short not to. Allowing yourself a little of what you love is good for the soul. Now I’m not saying two pizzas washed down with a bottle of wine should be your everyday treat, but just a little something to perk you up. Whatever that is, you decide.
6 – Get some fresh air
I know this can be a difficult one, especially if like me you’re in the office all day. I do however always feel better if I go out and get some fresh air into my lungs. It can help clear your head and therefore your thoughts. Fresh air has a calming affect and is also great to get out of the false air inside. Even if it’s just for 5 minutes, it makes a difference, trust me.
7 – Do a Good Dead
No matter how small, doing a good deed will make you feel great about yourself. It will also help somebody else out. Even if it seems like nothing to us, it may be of much more significance to someone else. Kindness is never a wasted act.
8 – Eat Good Food
Think of food as fuel for your body. Being hungry leaves you exhausted, irritable and more susceptible to feelings of anxiety and negativity. Feed yourself good food and you will be happier. I’m such a foodie so for me this aspect is essential.
9 – Listen to Music
There are so many opportunities to listen to some upbeat music throughout your day. The commute to and from work / college or school can be brightened up by some tunes to get you on form for the day. Make yourself a playlist and sing your heart out!
10 – Give yourself a break
We can be so hard on ourselves over the things we’ve done wrong no matter how trivial they may be. How often do we actually think about how well we did something? Even if it was small. I know I often neglect that aspect and I’m definitely going to try and stop. At the end of the day, nobody is good at everything, we all make mistakes and so what’s the point dwelling on the bad? There’s too much good things we should be focusing on, trying to be perfect just isn’t feasible.
I’ve been trying to implement these little steps each day and I have noticed a significant difference. It’s not only about feeling more positive, I also find that it has helped me be more productive too. They are only small little tweaks to your day so what have you got to lose? Give it a shot ❤
