Over the last few weeks I’ve been eating a lot of over night oats for my breakfast. It is one of the few things that actually fills me before work. I am a big believer that starting your day with a good, wholesome breakfast is key to staying on track. I find otherwise I am craving something sugary by 11.00am and when you’ve a canteen full of chocolate and crisps only two flights of stairs away, this craving has to be kept at bay.
What you Need
30grams of Organic / Gluten Free Oats
1 tbsp Chia Seeds
1 tsp of Agave
1 tsp Flaxseed
Handful of Chopped Pecans
Handful of Chopped Raspberries and / or Blueberries
50ml of Almond Milk
150ml of water
I love the gluten free porridge from Aldi, it’s so reasonable too. Eating healthy can be expensive so it’s great to find cheaper alternatives when possible.
Overnight Oats are so easy to make, just pop the ingredients into a container and stir. I usually leave some of the nuts and fruit to pop on top, because well it looks pretty 🙂 I got these jars from TK Maxx and they are great for storing food like this overnight. Plus they don’t take up too much room in the fridge and can be brought with you if your not eating your breakfast at home.
It’s tough to eat healthy when you’re on the go all the time and this recipe really doesn’t take a lot of prep. There’s a lot of room for variety too so it can be made to your preference (which is great when you feel like mixing it up a little)
