Review: Boots Botanic Face Mask

Boots Botanic range is made from plant based ingredients and is renowned for being gentle on all skin types. I have recently started using the Ionic Clay Mask Shine Away mask that is now available in stores (€9.99 for 100ml)photo (20)

This mask claims to remove impurities and deeply cleanse whilst also matifying the skin. It states that is suitable for all skin types but most effective for oily skin. I have applied the mask once a week for the last three weeks as this was the recommended usage advised by a boots consultant. I have noticed my skin feels extra clean and soft after using it. I have combination skin with some dry areas and would generally not use items for oily skin because of this. I found however that the mask didn’t dry out my skin so I would recommend it for people with combination skin also.

I prefer clay masks as opposed to creamy ones and I find this does leave the skin feeling cleansed without feeling any irritation. This is due to the natural and plant based ingredients. The willowbark included contains salicylic acid which is great for reducing impurities and deeply cleansing the skin. Something that ordinary cleansing may not always achieve.

Only a small amount of the mask is required for each application so I still have loads left even after a few uses.Β I would recommend this product, I think its a great bargain considering how long it is lasting and the I do feel my skin looks brighter.

This product is also not tested on animals which in my opinion is an extremely good added bonus!!! I hate cruelty to animals in any form so I’m really glad (and impresses) that such a large retailer like boots are making steps to reduce product testing on animals!

There are always offers on the Botanics Range in Boots so keep an eye out and bag yourself an even better bargain on this product!
